{"id":2620,"date":"2014-06-26T11:01:40","date_gmt":"2014-06-26T08:01:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sranis.gr\/uncategorized\/ship-safety-officer\/"},"modified":"2024-06-24T16:56:43","modified_gmt":"2024-06-24T13:56:43","slug":"ship-safety-officer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sranis.gr\/en\/non-stcw\/ship-safety-officer\/","title":{"rendered":"Ship Safety Officer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Safety on board ships has come a long way in reducing accidents, but there is still a lot of scope to improve safety.<\/p>\n<p>This Shipboard Safety Officer course has been designed with a view of training the designated safety officer in understanding the importance of running a safer and cleaner ship thus spreading safety awareness amongst fellow seafarers.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0\u00a0course is based on the Guidelines given in the STCW Code 2010\u00a0Table\u00a0\u00a0 A-II\/2 &amp; A-III\/2 and IMO Model Course 3.11 (Marine Accident &amp; Incident Investigation).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Course Objectives:<\/strong><br \/>\nUpon completion of this course, the participant will be able to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Have the knowledge of the general dangers involved in shipboard operations.<\/li>\n<li>Understand the role of a safety officer.<\/li>\n<li>Understand the importance of identifying general hazards and spreading safety awareness.<\/li>\n<li>Carry out Risk assessment.<\/li>\n<li>Carry out accident investigations and root cause analysis.<\/li>\n<li>Handle stress and fatigue and understand its implications to accidents.<\/li>\n<li>Understand the importance of reporting near misses and accidents.<\/li>\n<li>Handle internal and external safety audits.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Certificate<br \/>\n<\/strong>All those completing this course will be qualified to be designated as SAFETY OFFICERS ON BOARD a ship.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Safety on board ships has come a long way in reducing accidents, but there is still a lot of scope to improve safety.
